Good news for Daniele Scardina, a Milanese boxer struck by a cerebral hemorrhage last Feb. 28.

Giving it on Instagram was, as always, his brother Giovanni. “Today we close a chapter in our lives and say goodbye to the Humanitas clinical institute, our home these past two months. We thank with all our hearts Dr. Elena Costantini, head of the General Intensive Care Unit; Dr. Zefferino Rossini, neurosurgeon, who operated on Daniele; Dr. Stefania Maria Alessandra Radice, clinical manager of the Neurosurgery Department; Dr. Maurizio Cecconi, department director of Anesthesia and Intensive Care; and Giulia Vinciguerra, managing nurse of Neurosurgery. Together with them, we thank all the Medical Team of the ICU who first took care of Daniele and all the other Doctors and Nurses of the Neurosurgery department who took care of him during this last month.”

“Right now Daniele is awake and preparing to face a course of treatment and rehabilitation. There is still a long way to go, but he is a champion and has already won the hardest of battles.”
