MotoGp, debates the penalty to Franco Morbidelli
MotoGp, astonishment over penalty to Franco Morbidelli
The penalty given to Franco Morbidelli for “ambition” is causing controversy in MotoGp on the sidelines of the Spanish Gp. The Yamaha centaur on the first lap of Saturday’s sprint race in Jerez came into contact with Alex Marquez: both ended up on the ground involving Marco Bezzecchi and Augusto Fernandez. The race was suspended and all four were then able to restart.
Paying with the penalty, however, was only Morbidelli, sanctioned with a “long lap” for “irresponsible driving” for the incident with Alex Marquez. In the penalty device, the Yamaha rider is accused of being “ambitious in his attempt to overtake, causing the contact and accident with Alex Marquez.” Yamaha’s appeal has already been rejected.
