Spaniard believes mountain stages will be decisive

Saturday, May 6 will see the start of the Giro d’Italia 2023. A highly anticipated event with many big names dreaming of taking the pink jersey. Contador, winner of the Giro d’Italia on two occasions (2008 and 2015), expects a great duel between Evenepoel and Roglic.

On the race, the Spaniard is adamant: “I don’t think the gap can be had in the three time trials. Evenepoel and Roglic are equivalent in the time trials so I think the mountain stages will decide the winner. Facing the 19th stage finishing at the Three Peaks of Lavaredo after 18 days of racing could present the bill.
