MotoGp, Pol Espargaró: “8 fractures, for a month without speaking and eating”
Pol Espargaró updated on his condition after the dramatic accident that occurred during the Portuguese Grand Prix weekend in Portimao. The Spanish rider had suffered several fractures, including one in his jaw, which prevented him from eating or speaking normally for a month.
“It’s been a month and a week since the accident and I can talk a little bit. I was with my jaw completely closed for four weeks after the accident, I couldn’t eat, I lost a lot of weight, but finally I can smile and I can speak quite well now,” he told on social media.
“Also I had a problem with my ear, which I had to operate on, I had eight fractures in my body, two in my ribs, one in my neck, three in my back that I think are taking a little longer to settle down, for the vertebrae you have to be very careful because it’s super easy to injure the spinal cord, so we are working with the doctors hand to hand to get back as soon as possible, but first of all I have to get healthy again,” explained the KTM rider, who then thanked everyone for their support.
