Holger Rune: comes John McEnroe’s critique.
Holger Rune’s behavior with the public seen in his matches against Jannik Sinner and Davidovich Fokina did not please even a great former rebel of the past, John McEnroe: “It’s hard to be a real str..zo on the court and live on the pro circuit…. It’s possible to do that, but you end up living a very lonely existence, against everything and everyone.”
“Rune likes to exacerbate tempers, but he does it in a way that ends up irritating his opponents, and it certainly irritates the crowd. He is developing a reputation, and now it is not easy to get it off his chest. He has to cut down on his theatrics with the public,” McEnroe said during the podcast with his brother Patrick.
On a possible Slam win: “Right now he suffers a little too much from ups and downs, on the dry match he can beat anybody, but a Slam you only win if you eliminate too many ups and downs.”
