The Slovenian is one of the big favorites to win the Corsa Rosa

On Saturday, May 6, the Giro d’Italia 2023 begins with a time trial. Among the favorites to take home the pink jersey is definitely Roglic. The three-time Vuelta winner has decided to prepare for the Giro d’Italia 2023 in a special way. No racing in April but only training at high altitude to find the best form and try to beat all the thick competition.

“I preferred to train at altitude, I didn’t need to race. It was the best possible plan to approach this big event. Tirreno-Adriatico and Catalunya were very intense races, they served me a lot,” the 33-year-old Slovenian’s words to Gazzetta dello Sport. In his third participation, Roglic aims to make his mark.
