Fiorentina in conference league final, feat in Switzerland

Fiorentina makes a splash in Basel and reaches the Conference League final. Italiano’s team overcame the hosts 3-1 at the end of extra time, reversing the 2-1 loss they suffered at home in the first leg.

The violets went ahead with a header by Nico Gonzalez in the 35th minute, but were reached in the 55th minute by Amdoun. Again Gonzalez in a scrum in the 73rd minute put the Gigliati back ahead and stretched the challenge into extra time.

In extra time, interrupted for a few minutes due to an illness of a purple fan in the stands, came Barak’s winning goal in the 122nd minute, seconds before penalty kicks: the Czech settled it in a scrum after an earlier shot by Mandragora.

In the final Fiorentina will face West Ham.
