Marcell Jacobs, a new injury arrives.

Yet another stop for Marcell Jacobs. The Italian sprinter, gold medalist in the 100 meters at Tokyo 2020, will miss the Diamond League leg in Morocco due to a muscle problem, thus again postponing his challenge against world champion Fred Kerley.

“I am forced to skip my debut and first confrontation this year with Kerley, which I was very much looking forward to, because of a slight lumbosacral blockage that I plan to resolve as soon as possible. It is not an injury, it is just the result of a false support that, however, prevents me from competing in Morocco. Technically I feel fit and ready to have a good outdoor season. The challenge is only postponed.”

Jacobs in theory could be back on the track as early as Friday, June 2 at the Golden Gala scheduled in Florence, or Friday, June 9 at the Paris meet.
