Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s adventure on the PSV Eindhoven bench, on which the 46-year-old former striker had been sitting since last July, ends with immediate effect, so much so that he will not lead the team in the last game of the season, Sunday with AZ Alkmaar.
Yet PSV’s year with Van Nistelrooy at the helm has been anything but bad, having won both the Dutch Super Cup and the Dutch Cup, again against Ajax, while in the Eredivisie the team is second though ten points behind Feyenoord. But the tensions within the locker room were too much, hence the exoneration.
