Former Napoli captain announces retirement

Marek Hamsik, during a press conference, officially announced his intention to retire from playing soccer at the end of the season with Trabzonspor. “Trabzonspor will be my last team and I will play my last home game on Saturday. I want to thank all the clubs where I played for giving me this opportunity. I thank everyone for this journey, I have fulfilled my dream.”

“Soccer was always the first thing on my mind from a young age. This was my destiny. I started my career at the age of 4, I had big dreams and I think I achieved my goals. I want to thank my family and friends who have been there for me and have always believed in me.”

“Thank you to our fans for supporting me. Now I will enjoy these last moments. I might not cry, but I am very happy and proud. I made this decision together with my family and children. They wanted me to come home,” these are the words of Marek Hamsik.
