Red Bull driver Max Verstappen also confirmed his superiority in the first free practice of the Spanish Grand Prix. At Montmeló, the world champion immediately inflicted abysmal gaps on everyone, starting with teammate Sergio Perez, 7 tenths away.
Both Ferrari and Mercedes lagged behind, with Lewis Hamilton outside the top 10.
