F1, Gp Spain: Verstappen, dominant pole. Sainz second, Leclerc nightmare

Max Verstappen continues his monologue in Formula 1: the Red Bull driver took pole position in the Spanish Grand Prix as a dominator, inflicting abysmal gaps on all the other drivers on the grid.

The Dutch driver finished 5 tenths ahead of the second on the grid, Carlos Sainz, and the third, McLaren driver Lando Norris. Also on the second row was Pierre Gasly, then Lewis Hamilton, Lance Stroll, Esteban Ocon, Nico Hulkenberg, Fernando Alonso and Oscar Piastri rounded out an anomalous Top 10.

Excellent eliminations among the big boys: Sergio Perez and George Russell were eliminated in Q2 and will start from 11th and 12th, while Charles Leclerc, who had technical problems on his Ferrari, will start just second-to-last.
