Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals

Carlos Alcaraz earned a pass for the most anticipated semifinal match against Novak Djokovic at Roland Garros 2023.

The Spaniard prevailed over Stefanos Tsitsipas with a score of 6-2 6-1 7-6 after two and a quarter hours of play. The Greek, dominated for two sets, fought back when it seemed to be over deserving at least the tie-break in the third partial, where, however, he had to surrender to the superiority of the world number one.

After an irresistible rise Carlos Alcaraz in 2022 won his first Grand Slam title, at the US Open. With the victory in the U.S., he gained the first position in the Atp ranking, becoming the youngest tennis player in history to succeed in the feat, at the age of 19 years 4 months and 7 days.
