The Curva Sud’s response after Paolo Maldini’s farewell was not long in coming.

“Regarding the events of the last few days, we would like to thank Paolo from the bottom of our hearts for the work he has done over the years. Mending the relationship that was broken on the day of his farewell to soccer was certainly the most beautiful step of the path we have lived together in these last seasons, which has brought Milan back to winning in Italy and being competitive in Europe. And a good part of these results must surely be ascribed to Paolo and the tireless work done, marked always by the love for our colors. A dismissal can never erase the history in the Rossoneri of Paolo Maldini, a great captain on the field and an example of Milanism for all of Us. We do not go into the merits of the corporate choices; it is not for us to make assessments of the work of managers, coaches and players. We expressed our thoughts clearly with a banner on the last day of the championship: COMPANY: WE WANT THE QUALITY JUMP! This must be the only goal of the ownership and those who from now on will be in charge of the technical area, to build a strong team capable of fighting on all fronts, because the good of our colors comes and will always come first! WITH MILAN IN THE HEART, ALWAYS!”.
