Paolo Lorenzi defends Jannik Sinner: “Unthinkable.”
Paolo Lorenzi in an interview with Oasport defends Jannik Sinner to the hilt after the disappointing Roland Garros that saw him eliminated in the second round: ” As far as I’m concerned, Sinner will learn from this experience because you can’t think that after playing four months very well and climbing the rankings and being high in the Race, he has become a normal player.”
Sinner in the press conference said there he was betrayed by the pressure, “What Jannik says is part of something that all high-level players have already had to deal with. Alcaraz himself, shortly after he became world No. 1 for the first time, admitted in a press conference that he had difficulty handling tension, and it is no coincidence that we remember a whole series of defeats after New York, such as against Goffin in Astana.”
Sinner has chances for redemption on grass: “He can play very well there, as he showed last year at Wimbledon. His ability to be offensive on grass is enhanced because it is much more difficult to rebound his shots, which is “easier” on clay. It will be interesting to see how he manages to turn the page after Paris, but for me there are chances to be among the benchmarks ahead of the Championships.”
