Simone Inzaghi speaks after his Inter team lost the Champions League final against Manchester City: “I congratulated the boys, they were great, they played a great game. We lost a final that we wanted at all costs but they must be proud. I would not exchange these players for anyone and today the whole world saw why. We conceded very little against a very strong team.”

“In the first half we didn’t suffer so much but at the level of movement we could have done better,” Inzaghi admitted. “Then we created so many situations and in the last 20 minutes with the crossbar and Lukaku’s rebound you wonder why the ball didn’t go in. I would have liked extra time, the team would have deserved it.”

“We had a great run but we saw that tonight on the pitch. We all know City. It hurts, the run in the Champions League was outstanding and having played a final like this we want to get back there because we have the chances to do it.”
