Pecco Bagnaia furious, Marc Marquez won’t stand for it: ‘He’s not right’
Controversy continues even with the engines off.
Marc Marquez won’t stand for it. Pecco Bagnaia was furious at Mugello, when during qualifying he found himself with the Catalan’s Honda in front at the start of a flying lap in which he would have attempted an assault on Super Pole. The world champion then equally managed to get the fastest time on his Ducati, but the controversy continued. And his rival responded.
“The space to make the break was there. In my opinion Bagnaia is not right,” Marquez in fact cut short at the end of the session.
The incident occurred six minutes from the end of Q2, with Bagnaia still trailing in the standings because he was 11th. However, at the end of his launch lap, when he started to attack the stopwatch, Marquez’s Honda, which had just come out of the pits, appeared in front of his Ducati.
The Catalan at that point remained in the trajectory triggering Bagnaia’s nervousness. Indeed, the cameras caught the 2022 MotoGP world champion as he repeatedly vented his anger with some blatant gestures with his left arm. He then approached Marquez shouting something at him. The Honda bearer’s response was the “No” gesture with his index finger.
