Napoli, first reinforcement ready for Rudi Garcia
Napoli, eyes on Gabri Veiga for the midfield
After making official the hiring of Rudi Garcia as the new coach, Napoli is already back to work to strengthen the squad to try to reconfirm itself next season. One of the goals in the Neapolitan house ahead of the summer soccer session will be a shot in the midfield, complicit with the possible goodbyes of Ndombele and Zielinski.
According to reports from “Il Mattino,” one name that has reportedly been gaining momentum is Gabri Veiga, a young midfielder who authored an excellent season with the Celta Vigo shirt. President Aurelio De Laurentis would have put on the plate an offer of 30 million euros to try to get the player. However, there would still be a distance between the two clubs, as the Spaniards would only be willing to let the 2002 class leave with the payment of the 40 million euros rescission clause.
Napoli, for its part, has reportedly already established contacts with the player’s entourage, already proposing an initial salary proposal (1.9 million euros per season for five years). Much of the outcome of the negotiation will depend on the player’s will. In addition, should the deal fall through, the main alternative remains Teun Koopmeiners.
