Marc Marquez raises white flag: bitter admission
Marc Marquez resigned
First the slip and collision with Zarco in Friday’s free practice, then the three crashes in Saturday morning alone: way too much even for Marc Marquez himself, who on the sidelines of the Sachsenring MotoGp Sprint Race admitted that he didn’t want to push, settling for 11th place.
“This morning, in the wet, I had started well,” the Honda centaur told ‘Sky Sports,’ “but when the track improved I pushed and fell. I tried again but I slipped twice more and despite all my efforts to get to the limit I was only seventh. At this point I did the math and told myself it wasn’t worth pushing: 11th place in the Sprint Race can be explained that way.”
“This is a track I like, I wanted to push really hard and try to get a good result. But there are a lot of problems, in terms of grip and entering the corners: if it’s like this at Sachsenring it’s a disaster, we have to take another step back and make more evaluations in the warm-up.”
