Charles Leclerc: “The best Ferrari since the beginning of the season.”
Charles Leclerc took a good fourth place in the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal, climbing up from 10th position. “The feeling is positive,” the Monegasque driver commented to the Sky Sport F1 microphones after the race, “but this is a very special track because of the kerbs and the set-up of the car also does a lot. This weekend was good from the beginning, too bad about yesterday’s qualifying, but there’s no point in going back on that. Today was a good day as we started 10th and 11th, and finished 4th and 5th with good pace and strategy, and good feeling.”
“The goal is to improve from here,” he added, “and I think we found something good, because already since Friday that I feel better with the car. I took a different direction and I feel more comfortable. This is positive, but we need to take one more step.”
“Today this was the best Ferrari since the beginning of the season and that gives me a smile, but the real smile will be when I fight for the victory,” Leclerc admitted. “We have to be aware that we have to be happy when we take a step forward, because it is not always easy. Today the feeling was good and we took a step. We are happy, but from tomorrow we will have to work even harder to make up the gap that we still lack.”
