Wyndham Clark has won the Us Open.
In Los Angeles, the 29-year-old from Denver surprisingly beat Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler (No. 1 in the world rankings) to win with a total of 270 (64 67 69 70, -10) strokes that earned him $3,600,000 against a total prize pool of $20,000,000 (the highest in the tournament’s history).
“I imagined maybe 100 times, in my head, this moment that has finally arrived. I dedicate the success to my mother (who died when Clark was only 19, ed.),” Clark’s warm words.
