Honda meltdown, Joan Mir misses another Grand Prix
Marc Marquez’s teammate also forced to forfeit at Assen
It’s raining wet at Honda: Marc Marquez’s teammate at HRC, Joan Mir, will also miss the Dutch Grand Prix at Assen. After forfeits at Mugello and Sachsenring, the 2020 world champion will not be there at Assen either because he has not recovered from his hand problem.
Mir will be replaced by Iker Lecuona. Honda will also have to do without LCR rider Alex Rins, who broke his tibia and fibula in Italy and will return as Mir only after the World Championship break.
Marc Marquez, who missed the German GP on Sunday after a crash in the warm-up, is working to recover and should be available. The eight-time world champion complained harshly to Honda on Sunday, “I can’t take these risks anymore.”
