Nicola Pietrangeli peremptory over Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini

Italian tennis legend Nicola Pietrangeli at the microphones of notizie.com commented harshly on the current difficulties of Matteo Berrettini, who has plummeted in the Atp ranking: “You hear a lot of it around. I hope the rumor circulating that he is even thinking of quitting is not true. It would be a drama for him and for Italian tennis.”

“Berrettini is 25 years old,” Pietrangeli continued, “He’s handsome, he’s rich, he’s famous. But what more does he want from life? He would light a sky to Our Lady every day. He hasn’t realized how lucky he is. He earns millions and is squandering it all. I don’t know what’s going on in his head. For goodness sake, I don’t think anyone knows for sure. It’s a pity, though: you have a fortune in your hand and you’re also playing hard to get. Boh? The problem, as I said is that we will never know for sure what is going on with him.”

Italy’s best are now Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Musetti: “Yes but we should not think that they should win Wimbledon. Let’s not make the usual mistake that all Italians always make. I’m not saying we have to turn into little De Coubertins, but we should not overload our young people. They are strong, they are growing and they have the future on their side. But let’s not put too much pressure on them.”
