Alex Rins back in surgery, Joan Mir absent: Honda’s moves
A new operation and injury absence, followed by the inevitable substitutions.
Alex Rins had surgery again on his right leg, and Honda at Assen will also have to do without Joan Mir. Compared to Sachsenring, however, the two riders will see as many replacements on the track ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix.
As for Rins, the Honda LCR rider is in Madrid where he underwent a second operation after the tibia and fibula fracture he suffered at Mugello. According to Lucio Cecchinello, in less than two weeks he should resume moving his leg with the goal of returning to the track at Silverstone.
Also at Mugello, on the other hand, came the injury to the left hand of Mir, who was already absent at Sachsenring and will also miss the Assen rainbow round. In his place, the official Honda team will field Iker Lecuona (already on track in Jerez). Instead, in place of Rins there will be Stefan Bradl.
