Carpegna Prosciutto Basket Pesaro has announced with great satisfaction that its new coach is Maurizio Buscaglia. Born in 1969, in the 2003/2004 season he was chosen by Aquila Basket Trento with whom he remained until 2007, leading them to promotion to the B2 series. In 2008/2009 with Perugia he centered the promotion to Serie A Amateur. In 2010 a new experience awaits him on the bench of Trento: in 2011/2012 he wins the National Division A championship allowing the Bianconero club to land for the first time in its history in LegaDue. In the following season he won the Coppa Italia while in 2013/2014 he won promotion to the top division.

Many satisfactions also in 2014/2015: to the fourth place in the standings always leading Trento he also adds the title of Best Coach. The following year he is protagonist in the EuroCup: with Aquila he reaches the semifinals and is awarded Best Coach of the tournament. In November 2016 he is chosen as the new Head Coach of the Under-20 National Team. The 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 seasons see him reach the Scudetto final, against Venice and Milan, respectively. At the end of 2018/2019 he leaves Trento to move to the leadership of Reggio Emilia. In December 2020 he becomes the new coach of Leonessa Brescia with whom he remains until the end of the championship. His 2021/2022 starts in Israel as coach of Hapoel Holon, which he leaves from second in the standings, to the National Cup Finals and the second round of the Champions League landing in March 2022 in Naples where he reaches a difficult salvation, remaining there until February 2023. His year ends with a return to Israel, this time to Hapoel Eilat, which again leads to salvation in the top league.

From July 2019 to 2023 Buscaglia was also head coach of the Dutch national team, qualifying for the 2022 European Championships. He arrives in Pesaro on a guaranteed two-year contract with an option for a third season.
