ATP Queen’s: final between Carlos Alcaraz and Alex De Minaur
It will be between Carlos Alcaraz and Alex De Minaur in the final of the ATP tournament on London’s Queen’s grass, a traditional prologue to Wimbledon.
Alcaraz, world No. 2 and No. 1 seed, beat U.S. Sebastian Korda, No. 32, with a score of 6-3 6-4. In the other semifinal, Aussralian Alex De Minaur, No. 18, got the better of Denmark’s Holger Rune, No. 6 but still uncomfortable on grass especially near the net despite making it to the semifinals, 6-3 7-6.
There is only one previous between the two, won by Alcaraz in three sets last year in the semifinals on clay in Barcelona. The Murcian will be chasing his 11th title on the major circuit and is in his first final on grass, De Minaur has already won in Eastbourne in 2021 his only final on grass, beating among others Lorenzo Sonego in a third-set tie-break, and will be looking for his eighth success in an ATP tournament.
