Marc Marquez gets distracted and crashes into Enea Bastianini
More problems for Honda centaur Marc Marquez, who also fell in Assen
More trouble for Marc Marquez: the Honda centaur crashed during Q1 after rear-ending Enea Bastianini’s Ducati.
The Catalan rider, who was making his last attempt to enter Q2, did not notice Bastianini in Turn 4 because he was turned around to assess the possible arrival of other bikes behind him. The Ducatista had correctly put himself off the trajectory after aborting the lap due to a mistake, and he was going slow: Marquez hit him full on and he ended up ruinously in the gravel.
No problems for the eight-time world champion, other than wounded pride from the silly crash that will force him to start in the rear (17th) in both the sprint race and on Sunday in the Dutch GP.
