Moto3 Dutch GP: sprint triumph for Jaume Masia

Exciting race in the Moto3 class Dutch Grand Prix at the Assen circuit with final sprint to ten and victory for Honda Leopard Racing Spaniard Jaume Masia.

The 22-year-old native of Algemesi, in the Valencian Community, was in the lead for most of the last laps but on the last lap he was overtaken by Husqvarna Liqui Moly Intact GP’s Japanese rider Atumu Sasaki, however Masia with two corners to go managed to get back in front and triumph for the first time this season, the seventh in his career. Lower step of the podium for the Turkish Red Bull KTM Ajo’s Denis Oncu, winner at Sachsenring a week ago ahead of Sasaki. Nice comeback by Ivan Ortola, the Spaniard of the KTM Angeluss MTA Team suffered a long lap penalty but finished fourth.

Too bad for Romano Fenati: the holder of the Honda Rivacold Snipers was third a few corners from the end but was “accompanied” off the track by an opponent and finished eighth. The leader of the world championship, the Spaniard of Red Bull KTM Tech3 Daniel Holgado, started from the last position of the grid because in the qualifying he was deprived of his best lap due to a track limit violation, then during the first lap he crashed, got back on the saddle but ended up far from the points zone, so now his lead in the standings over Masia, who is second, has been reduced to 16 points.
