Ferrari on the rise, Vasseur: “Important step forward”
F1 Ferrari, Vasseur: “In the factory they pushed like crazy.”
Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur commented on his drivers’ performance in the official practice for the Austrian GP with satisfaction: “We did good qualifying and we are not far from the pole, having two cars in the top three positions is a nice reward for the team.”
“At the factory they pushed like crazy to have everything ready for this weekend,” Vasseur pointed out to Sky. “I am very satisfied for us but even more so for them it is only a step, but it is very valuable. Last weekend we had a bad qualifying and a good race, now we have to have a good race after a good qualifying. We haven’t completed the work yet.”
Carlos Sainz’s words, “We did a very good qualifying lap, we are also happy because we did not expect to be so close to Red Bull. The weekend is still long, but today we did a very good job ahead of Sunday, a day when we aim for the podium. Rain tomorrow could change shootout and sprint qualifying, but we need to be focused to get good results.”
