Milan, Sandro Tonali leaves a door open
Sandro Tonali says goodbye to Milan fans
With a long post published on social media, Sandro Tonali wanted to greet Milan fans in person, shortly after his move to Newcastle was made official.
“Today I find myself here with a mix of emotions in my heart,” the midfielder wrote, “As you know, I have decided to embark on a new adventure and a new challenge. I start with a thank you to the club that welcomed me and gave me the opportunity to be part of this extraordinary club, which for me is and will always remain my home. I thank those who made sure that I wore the colors of the team of my heart and those who have willingly and sharingly handled the situation over the past weeks. I have learned so much in these three years and I have found a football family between the club, teammates and technical staff, who have supported and guided me on my path. It is thanks to you that I have been able to improve as a footballer and as a man.”
“I understand that this farewell may arouse mixed emotions,” he added, “and it is normal that there are when you leave a piece, a big one, of your heart, but it is important to remember that in soccer, as well as in life, changes are sometimes a reason for growth for everyone. Now I want to thank my people: you who, like me, carry the Rossoneri colors in your hearts. I will never forget the choruses from the Sud, the 19th Scudetto, all the wonderful moments we shared together and the love for our Milan.”
In closing, a little door left open: “I wish you all, club and fans, the best for the future and I am sure you will still do great things together. A warm hug, with the hope that it is not goodbye, but goodbye. Forza Milan, Sandro.”
