Tragedy in Finland, Joey den Besten dies

The world of sports, and of motorcycling in particular, is shaken by the death at only 30 years of age of Joey den Besten from the consequences of a crash during an IRRC (International Road Racing Championship) race in Imatra, Finland.

Confirming the sad news was the race organization itself, on its official channels: “With immense sorrow we give the news of the death of driver Joey den Besten, after a fall during the IRRC Imatranajo Race on Sunday. The rider had lost control of his bike on the formation lap of the Superbike race. Our sincere condolences go out to his family and friends. He will be missed.”
