Lewis Hamilton’s statements after finishing 15th in FP2

After finishing 15th in the second free practice session of the Silverstone GP, Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton was blunt about the Brackley-based stable’s extremely bad Friday.

“We have to deal with a difficult car to drive, regardless of what we do for set-up. On a single lap we did not feel any improvement between the tires, which shows that there is something wrong. In the final part of the session I felt that the race pace was improving. It could be due to the wind or the balance,” the British driver began at the microphones of “Sky Sport F1”

“The long runs don’t seem to be too bad. At least there is that positive aspect. The pace was not particularly good on the softs, but it must have been worse for the others if they were not as fast. The weather was very windy, and this characteristic makes Silverstone the best circuit in the world. Today, however, the track changed very quickly,” added Lewis Hamilton.
