F1, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez satisfied after free practice at Silverstone

Here are statements from the two Red Bull drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez at the end of the two free practice sessions of the British Grand Prix at the Silverstone circuit. The Dutchman winner of the last two world championships and unchallenged ruler in this year’s one set the best time in both sessions, while the Mexican finished second and fourth.

“I think it was a good day for us,” Verstappen said, motorsport.com quotes. I think everything was a bit slippery at the beginning, but also I think it’s also due to the fact that we are running with very high pressures. Clearly it’s the same for everyone, but it makes it a little bit more difficult in low-speed corners. But overall, the car performed very well, I’m happy with it, the performance was good in both sessions, we completed our program, even the long runs are good. We will see tomorrow with the weather. From our side we want to improve the car a little bit, but overall it was a very positive day.”

“I think it was an interesting day, we thoroughly tested the new tires with the new construction,” Perez added. “We learned a lot, it was interesting. It will be a long night to figure out what is the best way to manage the tires. I think it’s about managing the outlap well and having the tires right away in the window. If we can do that, we will be set up well for qualifying and also for the race. Overall, it was a positive day. The car performed well, we made progress from the first to second free practice, so I’m satisfied. Hopefully we can make further improvements and fight for pole, that’s my goal.”
