Born in Bergamo on April 7, 1994, he grew up in Atalanta’s youth sector, with which he made his first-team debut on December 4, 2013, in the Coppa Italia against Sassuolo.

In January 2014 he was sold on loan to Cesena, where he made his debut scoring in Serie B against Varese, and contributed to the Romagnoli’s promotion to Serie A. After experiences in Serie B with the shirts of Spezia and Vicenza, in January 2016 he returned to Atalanta, where he made his Serie A debut against Genoa at the end of the season. From the following season he gained more and more space, collecting 13 appearances in Serie A with an excellent performance, and in January 2017 he was bought by Inter.

He stayed in Milan for seven and a half seasons, playing 190 games, including 19 in the Champions League. During his Inter experience, which ended as vice-champion of Europe, he also made his debut in the national team, wearing the Azzurri jersey seven times.

Quantity, quality and experience: welcome Roberto!” this is the statement issued by the Brianza club.
