Busy day at Wimbledon, where nineteen men’s and eighteen women’s singles matches were played. Among both men’s and women’s singles, second-round matches delayed by rain in recent days were completed; in addition, the eight third-round matches from the lower part of the men’s draw and the eight also from the third round, but from the upper part, of the women’s draw were staged.

The only one out was Caroline Garcia, defeated 7-6 4-6 7-6 by Marie Bouzkova, one of the loose cannons of the women’s circuit.

At the end of the day came Novak Djokovic’s victory over Stan Wawrinka by the score of 6-3 6-1 7-6.The defending champion and the Swiss winner of three career Grand Slam tournaments played on the roof-covered Central Court. The match lasted 2 hours and 7 minutes and ended almost at midnight Italian time, the Serb clinching a place in the round of 16 on his way to 31 consecutive matches won at Wimbledon.
