Ferrari, violated curfew to solve Leclerc’s troubles
Busy night for Ferrari at Silverstone: the Maranello team worked until the wee hours to solve the electrical problem that laid low Charles Leclerc in the second free practice session of the British Grand Prix.
The red team was forced to violate curfew to repair the Principality driver’s SF-23 ahead of official qualifying scheduled for Saturday. Ferrari will not be punished because two curfew violations are allowed throughout the season, and for the Cavallino it was only the first.
“Tonight Ferrari personnel related to operations on the car were inside the circuit during the 11 1/2-hour period that began at 9:05 p.m. (…) and ended at 8:30 a.m. on July 8. This was the first of two individual exceptions allowed to Ferrari in the 2023 World Championship, consequently no action will be taken,” is the Fia note reported by Formulapassion.
