Milan, new bomber chosen: €20 million lunge, two alternatives
AC Milan on the hunt for goals in attack: the Rossoneri market men are looking for a striker with at least 20-25 goals, capable of flanking or replacing Olivier Giroud in Stefano Pioli’s offensive department.
Medhi Taremi, Porto’s bomber, is the hot name of the last hours: the Dragons’ striker, 31 years old on July 18, scored 31 goals in 51 games last season and is worth about 20 million euros, although his contract expiring in 2024 would allow the Diavolo to have him at a discount. The Iranian forward would, however, cover an extra-EU slot, taking it away from another market target, Chukwueze from Villarreal.
The alternatives to Taremi are known: Alvaro Morata has been on Milan’s buy list for some time, but the salary is a problem (he cannot take advantage of the Growth Decree) and Atletico Madrid is pushing him to Saudi Arabia to get the full 20 million euros of the resister clause.
Gianluca Scamacca is the other name at the top of Milan’s thoughts: the West Ham striker is also being followed by Roma. Purchased 36 million euros last season, he could arrive on an onerous loan.
