It was not an easy Sunday for Carlos Sainz: starting fifth, the Spaniard suffered from a lackluster race pace and poor tire feeling, finishing tenth and collecting only one rainbow point.

At the microphones of ‘Sky Sport,’ his comment was categorical: “We didn’t have much more than what we showed on the track,” he said, “We were far from Red Bull, Mercedes and today McLaren also showed that they were better.

“We did what we could,” Sainz added, “even the Safety Car came in at the worst time. The drop in the final? I took a risk to stay on the track with the used hard, in the end I paid compared to the others.”
