Dinamo Sassari, a new wing for Piero Bucchi
Dinamo Sassari hires Vasilis Charalampopoulos
New acquisition for Dinamo Sassari: the island club, in fact, announced on Thursday evening that it has reached an agreement with Vasilis Charalampopoulos, who will therefore play with the white-and-blue jersey in the next sports season.
The Greek forward class of 1997, 204 cm for almost 110 kg, is back from a more than decent season at Vuelle Pesaro, with which he participated in the playoffs scudetto. He is an all-around player, capable of playing both in the low post, thanks to his ability to attack the area with left-handed dribbling, and on the perimeter, given his propensity to shoot from distance. The Dynamo also bet on him because of his characteristics as an arch defender.
“I am very happy with the arrival of Charalampopoulos,” Dinamo coach Piero Bucchi commented to the club’s official channels, “because he is a complete player who can give us multiple dimensions, including the inside one. He is a polyvalent who can also play as a 4 and has shown that he has the qualities to emerge both defensively and offensively. We are happy that in spite of Euroleague realities he has chosen to be a protagonist with us.”
“Sassari had to beat competition from several teams,” the note on Charalampopoulos’ signing then reads, “but above all the Greek preferred to be a protagonist in Sassari rather than one of many in the Euroleague, the project on the player prevailed over the blazon.
Charalampopoulos is, moreover, the second Greek in Dinamo’s history in Serie A after Dimitris Tsaldaris, in Sassari in the 2010/11 season.
