Fiorentina: Fabiano Parisi is in, air of farewell with Sofyan Amrabat
Parisi’s arrival in Florence almost certain, Amrabat’s farewell likely
Fiorentina tries to unravel the market twists and turns before getting down to business on the field ahead of next season. There are two main pieces of news regarding the purple club, the now imminent arrival of Fabiano Parisi and the all but impossible farewell of Sofyan Amrabat.
As far as Parisi is concerned, the transfer of the 22-year-old Irpinian lateral from Empoli is now down to the details: coming back from the bitter experience at the European Under 21 Championships, but also from a more than positive season in Serie A under the orders of Paolo Zanetti, Parisi will undergo medical examinations in the coming days and will sign the contract, barring any last-minute surprises, that will bind him to the lily club.
Still on the high seas, however, is the talk related to Amrabat: his brother, Nordin, spoke about the midfielder’s future to the microphones of ESPN: “I don’t want to expose myself too much, but Sofyan is evaluating numerous offers and as his first intention he would like to stay in Europe. However, there are also Saudi clubs that have expressed interest, and they pay well there….”
Fiorentina is coming off a lackluster season in the league, with an eighth-place finish representing a step backward from their seventh-place finish in 2021/22, although in the Coppa Italia they reached the final (lost to Inter 2-1) and in the Conference League, in the season of their return to Europe for the first time since 2016/17, they were able to reach the final act, lost, however, to West Ham in the 90th minute, due to Jarrod Bowen’s goal.
