Gianluigi Donnarumma, PSG management is adamant about his future
PSG management reassures Gianluigi Donnarumma
Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future at PSG is not at risk and the club’s confidence in the former AC Milan goalkeeper is still very high. Word of Luis Campos, sporting director of the French champion club, who according to reports from ‘Gazzetta’, which quotes sources inside ‘Gigio’s’ entourage, spoke directly with him to reassure him about the market rumors that have emerged in recent days.
‘L’Equipe’, in fact, had reported the name of the 1999-born extreme defender among the possible departures at Paris Saint-Germain: the club’s management thus decided to intervene immediately, reassuring him ahead of next season.
PSG would indeed be looking for a goalkeeper, in the role, however, of deputy-Donnarumma that last season was Sergio Rico’s, who is currently engaged in the very long convalescence phase resulting from the very bad horseback riding accident last May 28, which had forced him to remain in a coma for three weeks.
Donnarumma is thus close to starting his third season at Paris Saint-Germain: after his controversial farewell to AC Milan, ‘Gigio’ has been among the main protagonists of the French capital’s club’s victories within the national borders (he has won Ligue 1 twice and the French Super Cup once), while in the Champions League he has failed to make a difference like his teammates, with whom he failed to go beyond the round of 16 both two seasons ago and last year, succumbing to Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, respectively.
