Inter: André Onana is there at the rally, but Manchester United is one step away
The fans’ embrace has come, but the farewell remains close.
André Onana and Inter Milan are getting closer and closer to parting their respective ways, despite the fact that the goalkeeper duly showed up at the Nerazzurri’s preseason gathering in Appiano Gentile. Here hundreds of fans joined him begging him not to leave, but his transfer to Manchester United seems only a matter of time.
As ‘Sky Sport’ explained on Thursday, Onana would be serene despite the operation involving him. The move to Manchester United would be well received by him, both for the chance to play in the Premier League and for the fact that he would see his salary doubled. Even on his part, however, there would be some displeasure, having enjoyed a great time at Inter Milan as well as in the city of Milan.
Meanwhile, the agreement between the two clubs is almost finalized, with a new contact between Manchester United and Inter: the Nerazzurri are now close to having snatched the €55 million figure for Onana’s transfer, although at the moment it is still unclear how much the fixed part amounts to and how much the bonuses.
Once Onana’s transfer is over, Inter will close negotiations for the new goalkeeper pair Sommer-Trubin, but it will also be able to afford to offer Chelsea the sum above 30 million needed to secure Romelu Lukaku. This time, however, on an outright basis. According to ‘SportMediaset’ reports, however, the goalkeeper’s agents in Monday’s meeting with the English found full agreement on the five-year contract. The player will come to earn 7 million euros per season.
