The fastest rider on the fastest bike: many MotoGp fans would like to see Marc Marquez on the Ducati, a dream destined to remain so until at least the end of 2024.
Honda tester Stefan Bradl says he is certain the Catalan would dominate if he rode a Desmosedici: “If Marc sits on a Ducati he is unbeatable, when you are on the right bike everything is easier. Marc has more potential than his brother Alex, Bezzecchi and Marini,” he explained to Speedweek.
“When you say that anyone can go fast on a Ducati, it’s a fact,” the German centaur continued. “There are so many races where three Ducati riders are on the podium. For them, the age of the rider doesn’t matter, as we see with Zarco. Different riding styles lead to success with the Desmosedici, even with the 2022 models and all the customer teams,” Bradl concluded.
After winning a 125 world championship in 2010 and a Moto2 world championship in 2012, Marc Marquez made his official MotoGp debut on a Honda in 2013. Already in his first year in the top MotoGP category, he won the championship ahead of Jorge Lorenzo and teammate Daniel Pedrosa. From 2014 to 2019 he won five more World Championships, not triumphing until 2015, the year in which he served as the needle in the challenge between Valentino Rossi and Lorenzo.
