Milan market, Massimo Ambrosini suggests a name for the midfield
Massimo Ambrosini suggests Zielinski to AC Milan
Massimo Ambrosini, with ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport,’ spoke about AC Milan’s soccer market and the recent arrivals of Christian Pulisic, Luka Romero, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, applauding the management for their efforts in replacing departing players (Sandro Tonali above all) but in turn suggesting a name for the midfield that has so far never been approached by the via Aldo Rossi club, that of Piotr Zielinski.
“He plays as a halfback, he frightens defenses and scores,” said the former AC Milan captain when talking about the Polish player, seen in recent seasons in Naples and the subject of market rumors in recent months that had approached him to Lazio led by a great admirer of Zielinski himself, that Maurizio Sarri who had coached him precisely in Naples but had already met him in Empoli.
But it is not only an extra midfielder that the Rossoneri need, according to Ambrosini: for the pesaro player, Milan would in fact also need “a 9 and an outside forward. For the center forward I say Taremi, he works a lot of balls, attracts central players and opens spaces in the area: he would be a good wingman for Leao. On the outside Chukwueze, who gives electricity.”
Ambrosini, born in 1977, was one of the last flags of AC Milan, where he played from 1995 to 2013, with a spell on loan at Vicenza in the 1997/98 season. From 2009 he was also captain after Paolo Maldini’s farewell. After his long Rossoneri experience, he faced one last competitive season, wearing the Fiorentina jersey, before retiring from playing soccer in 2014.
