Tour: Poels wins Mont Blanc stage, Vingegaard in yellow
Dutch cyclist Wouter Poels won the 15th stage of the Tour de France, a 179-kilometer alpine stage from Les Gets to Saint Gervais Mont Blanc, by a margin. Behind the Bahrain Victorious rider came Belgian Wout Van Aert, two minutes back.
Jonas Vingegaard successfully defended his yellow jersey from the assaults of Tadej Pogacar: the Slovenian tried to break away from the Danish rider in the stage finale to make up some precious seconds, but Vingegaard answered him punctually, arriving side by side with him at the finish.
In the general classification, the yellow jersey has a 10-second lead over Pogacar. Third place for Carlos Rodriguez, who consolidated his podium position. Also starring in the stage was our Giulio Ciccone, who won important points for the climbers’ classification and will wear the polka-dot jersey on Monday.
