Sebastian Vettel returns to wink at F1
Sebastian Vettel: “Returning to the environment? I have ideas about that.”
Sebastian Vettel and F1 could cross fates again, although the German has confirmed that he does not want to return to the wheel. It was indeed the former driver of Toro Rosso, Red Bull, Ferrari and Aston Martin, a four-time world champion, who spoke about his possible rapprochement with the Circus, speaking on the sidelines of his participation as a guest at the ‘Goodwood Festival of Speed’.
“We’ll see what we can do, I have ideas about it,” Vettel’s words reported by ‘Marca,’ “I talked about it earlier this year, I had a good chat about it with the CEO of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali.
The idea is to work in Formula 1 to enhance the tools that can make the premier open-wheel class and, by extension, all of motorsport increasingly sustainable. “F1 has a very big responsibility,” explained the German. “Apart from the cars, which directly pollute, every Grand Prix moves an incredible mass of people, at Silverstone last weekend it must have been 500,000. You have to assess the impact of everything around the races to figure out what to do.”
Vettel, born in 1987, has raced for 16 seasons in Formula 1, two at Toro Rosso (with which he won the Italian Grand Prix in 2008), six at Red Bull (where he won his four World Championships, consecutively, from 2010 to 2013), another six at Ferrari (best result in the standings the second place he got in 2017 and 2018) and two, the final ones of his career, at Aston Martin (best race result the second place in Baku in 2021).
