After his historic victory at Wimbledon, achieved at the end of a five-set battle against defending champion Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz indulged in an interview with Tyc Sports.
The world number one surprised everyone about his rival: “Right now I think I have a rival who follows these characteristics and I’m talking about Jannik Sinner. I’m not afraid to say it, he and I have already had great battles on all surfaces and in various tournaments, and I believe we will fight together for major titles in the future as well.”
Alcaraz and Sinner, to date, have faced each other six times with a perfect balance of three wins for the Spaniard and as many for the Italian. The South Tyrolean tennis player, moreover, is the only player in the world who can boast the record of having defeated the Murcian in all three surfaces (cement, clay and grass).
