Carlos Alcaraz issues warning to Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic
A few days after his extraordinary victory in the Wimbledon tournament over Novak Djokovic, world number one Carlos Alcaraz spoke at an interesting press conference, where, among other topics, he addressed his feelings after his triumph in London. In addition, the Spaniard wanted to send a clear message to his rivals, Djokovic and Sinner above all, ahead of the Us Open.
“It’s a little bit more special to have won in London than last year’s Us Open because of everything it means to beat a legend of the sport like Nole in the final. It’s crazy that he has never played against someone like me, and his words in the post-match gave me even more motivation to keep improving. The truth is that I did not think I could win Wimbledon being so young. I am very proud of the path I have taken in the last month,” the Murcian began.
“My mentality is that I will never be at 100 percent of my possibilities, because every day there will be new opportunities to grow and become a more complete tennis player. I’m not afraid of anything or anyone and I know I’m a guy who can continue to make history and beat anyone,” added the world number one.
“Since Roland Garros, I am a different player. I’ve learned a lot from what happened and that has allowed me to approach the Wimbledon final in a different way. I am looking forward to competing at the Us Open, where I believe I will be one of the favorites to win,” concluded Carlos Alcaraz.
