André Onana’s farewell to Inter.

On social media, Manchester United’s fresh signing André Onana said goodbye to Inter Milan and its fans with a long post, leaving the door open to a possible return. Here is the text of the 27-year-old Cameroonian goalkeeper’s post.

“I never imagined that a farewell would be so hard. A year ago I became Nerazzurro, so many people told me that this club and this city had something special. Now I can confirm that.

In my first days as a Nerazzurro I realized that this is a family, that being from Inter is really a way of understanding and living life. I fell in love with the San Siro, the curve and the city.

Now it is time to face a new journey, to Manchester. I do so with great enthusiasm, but knowing that I will miss you, Inter.

I feel eternal gratitude for all Inter fans. They make this club fantastic. Maybe one day our paths will cross again, but now is the time to face new challenges and cheer from a distance. Players come and go, but the club always remains and Inter is above everything and everyone.”
