Matt Brase is no longer the coach of Varese basketball
Varese Basketball and Matt Brase are saying goodbye. The Lombard club has announced the farewell of the Tucson native, who will continue his career on the staff of the Philadelphia 76ers.
“Pallacanestro Varese announces that from next season Matt Brase will no longer be the coach of Openjobmetis. Since his first day in Varese last summer, the coach has been able to fit enthusiastically into the red and white family and create a strong bond with players, fans and insiders.
The club would like to thank Matt for his passionate work during his year at Masnago and is proud to have given him the opportunity to showcase the qualities that earned him the opportunity to return overseas. The club wishes Coach Brase all the best of luck in his professional future,” this is the note issued by the club.
On his farewell to Openjobmetis, the person directly involved spoke: “To the fans of Varese, I want to express my gratitude for all your support in the last season. From start to finish you appreciated me and made me feel at home. It was a magical season with memories I will always carry with me. I feel very fortunate to have participated in a small part of your rich history.
I would also like to thank Luis Scola for his leadership, vision and confidence. Varese has a bright future with him at the helm. I would also like to say thank you to the entire front office for their commitment, loyalty and professionalism.
“All of this was possible thanks to the men who wore the red and white jersey every day. To the players, thank you for your commitment, energy and enthusiasm that you brought to every game. It has been an honor to lead you.”
